Final Blog Assignment

Consequences of learning about the international early childhood field:
  1. Inequalities of education. Some countries feel that girls should learn things inside the house while boys spend time learning outside the house.
  2. You become so invested in other countries issues that you fail to see the issues of your own country.
  3. After viewing differences in the early childhood field you want to teach in a specific country because their philosophy of education is more realistic to your idea of teaching.
The main goal is to be able to understand and fully comprehend international issues in early childhood education. Then from there being able to apply it to your teaching and even learning on a college level. Most importantly being able to share your ideas and insight and potentially applying some innovative ideas in a classroom setting.

  1. I agree that the inequalities of education is a topic that needs to be discussed. Women or girls are just as equal as men. Today there are more men maintaining the house while the woman provides. The roles have reversed.

  2. Hi Jazmine, I agree it is important to understand international issues in early childhood. I believe understanding issues in trends as it relates to international awareness is very important for early childhood professionals. This can help professionals better support children and families in the United States that may have issues in a particular area. It can never hurt learning about issues in other countries. Great post! Thanks for sharing.

  3. Hello Jazmine M.,

I do agree with you that some countries do not allow girls to receive an education. This is a problem in international education. If the goal is to educate all children, then girls should not be excluded from the process. There also needs to be more sharing of information of best practices and best policies in the early childhood field. If international ECE professionals are able to reach more children overseas, then there has to be more resources for them to do so. Children can be impacted by the way they are taught and the information they learn from the ECE practitioner can lead the children into future success in their academics and in their development.

  4. I agree with you that in some countries girls do not receive an education. I found that a lot during my research each week. Quality programs need to be made accessible to all children.
