When I think of research...

I feel that my simulation is so important to this field because it gives information about the benefits of parents. Many times parents don't understand the role they play in their child's education or the impact they make by not being involved in their education. Having this simulation available for families, and school will help spread the word about the significance of everyone getting involved. I firmly believe in the quote "It takes a village." Without teachers our children wouldn't learn the skills they need to thrive in society, without families children would know love, respect, compassion, etc. The list goes on. It's not one sole person job to help a child succeed it's a team effort. This course has helped me understand the benefits of research and how to access them as well. Without this course I still wouldn't know the difference between a scholarly article and one that is made up.

  1. Hi Jazmine,
You have captured the true meaning of research when you mentioned scholarly articles. We have been taught how to use specific resources, credible journals, and university resources of influence to education. Also, just being able to collaborate and communicate through a pliable educational system that works more freely now, as we understand its value. Thank you for everything you have contributed to this research studies' class and to the ECE field.

  2. Jazmine,
I love what you said in regards to our work being a collective, team effort. I often explain the importance of this mentality and approach to parents of my Kindergarteners by saying, "you are your child's first teacher, you are absolutely necessary to their success, and together, we can work to help mold your child into the best, most successful version of themselves. I need your help." Thank you for choosing a topic that isn't always 'easy' to talk about. Blessings to you and thank you for all you have contributed throughout this course.

  3. Hi Jazmine!

I think your research simulation is very important, it truly does take a team effort to educate our children, and during the early years is the best time to make that connection - it sets the stage for the future of parent involvement. But, despite how important it is, I do see some parents who are not as involved as we would like them to be with their child's education, and I can't help but wonder sometimes if it is because so many still don't understand just how important early childhood education is. Good luck with your families!

  4. Jazmine, I agree with your post and I ditto your comments. it is very important to educate our young children and to offer assistance to teachers and leaders in the field. The research we learned about will help with that. It does take a village and we have to get that message out to people everywhere.
